How does it work?

Frenchie Freddie offers a complete curriculum designed for 7 to 11 years old children with the objective of feeding into high school.

Our topic- based approach focuses on authentic lessons organised around 6 stages and 3 levels of learning. 

Stages and topics

1. Stage 1: year 3 – grade 2  (greetings – numbers 0 to 20 – alphabet and phonics – conversation – days of the week)
2. Stage 2: year 3/4 – grade 2/3   (colours – pets and farm animals – dates and birthdays – fruits)
3. Stage 3: year 4 – grade 3   (school subjects – family – clothes)
4. Stage 4: year 5 – grade 4   (physical description and nationality – sports – in the house)
5. Stage 5: year 5 /6 – grade 4/5  (at the market – free time – breakfast) 
6. Stage 6: year 6 – grade 5  (in town – at the restaurant – holidays)

Levels of learning

1. BASICS – single words, focus on phonics and pronunciation,
2. FOUNDATION – gender of nouns, ‘a’ and ‘the’ in French, adjective position and agreement, foundation questions and answers, conjunctions,
3. DEVELOPMENT – short sentences including a verb, conjunctions, prepositions, time phrases, various tenses.
